False ME218 What new artists are you working with now? Most recent projects are: Britney Spears, Leona Lewis, Usher, Donna Summer, Flo- Rida, Wyclef, Jonas Brothers, Linkin Park, Jordin Sparks and Colbie Calliat…. a very diverse mix. How do you choose what projects to work on and where do you find your inspiration? I actually have a very eclectic taste in music and have a love for many different styles. Even before I got into the business, I was into all types of music. I think the most exciting projects for me are the ones where I really love the song I’m working on. Some of my best work has been songs where I called the record labels. If I hear a song that I absolutely love or something I think that I can really do a great job on, I’ll reach out to the label or management and see about working on it. For example, my mix on N. E. R. D. “ Rock Star” for Virgin was something that I did on my own and then sent into the label. That mix was huge… it was featured in an iPod commercial, two feature films and four movie trailers… that I know of! Its also been used in numerous promo spots on ESPN, the video game SSX3 and on the soundtrack. There have been tons of big uses on that remix. I also have a show on Z100 ( WHTZ) in New York called “ The Remix at 6 with Jason Nevins” which is on every night at 6pm where we showcase a remix of mine. It primarily goes according to what is on the current playlist but there are songs played that have been in rotation as well. It’s amazing to be involved with the most influential station in America. Being involved with a station that has millions of listeners is really amazing.
